Google has introduced EmbeddingGemma 2, an open multimodal model capable of working across text, code, images, video and audio.

The 740M-parameter model maps different content types into a shared 768-dimensional space for tasks including search, RAG, classification and media retrieval. It is designed for low-latency, on-device use on hardware such as smartphones and laptops.
