Amazon’s Strands team has released Strands Decider 2B, an open-source model designed to make fast decisions inside AI agent workflows.
Instead of generating text, the 1.9B-parameter model selects between options, scores inputs and returns calibrated confidence values, making it suitable for tasks such as tool selection, routing and guardrails. Built on Qwen3.5-2B-Base, the model is available under the Apache 2.0 license and is evaluated on JevBench.
