OpenAI announced the creation of an independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence to help assess the rapid progress of AI in mathematical research.
The group will advise on the significance and communication of new results, academic standards, and how AI tools can support mathematical research and learning. OpenAI also said a new internal model trained from August 28 has resolved more than 100 long-standing open problems in mathematics.
