IBM and NASA released the open-source NASA-IBM Lunar Foundation Model to support lunar research.
The model helps identify potential ice deposits, craters and volcanic formations across multi-instrument observation data. IBM reported improvements of up to 23% over widely used methods on some lunar-surface feature-detection tasks.
