Anthropic has introduced Claude Sonnet 5.5, a new model that runs more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5 while cutting task costs by up to 30% in many workloads.
The model brings major improvements in coding, long-running tasks, visual understanding and document creation, scoring 70.6% on Terminal-Bench 4.0. Anthropic says Sonnet 5.5 is now available across Claude apps and the API, with Haiku 5.5 set to join the family in the coming weeks.
