Google has placed the first Project Suncatcher prototype satellite into orbit as part of its research into scalable AI infrastructure in space.
Built with Planet and launched aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-18 mission, the satellite is online and operating as expected. Google will now study how its TPUs withstand launch stress, radiation and extreme thermal conditions in orbit.
