The U.S. Department of Homeland Security launched the “Ready, Set…ID the Biothreat” prize challenge to advance AI-assisted biodetection.
The three-stage competition seeks computational algorithms capable of detecting known, novel and previously unknown biological threats in environmental metagenomic datasets. Nearly $1 million in total prizes will be awarded.
