Wayve and Uber launched the United Kingdom’s first autonomous ride-hailing service in London.
Users requesting UberX, Uber Electric or Uber Comfort may be matched with a Wayve vehicle at no additional cost and can switch to a conventional ride if preferred. The electric Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles use Wayve AI Driver and initially carry a licensed safety driver, operating across London except at airports.
The European Commission used its EU AI Act enforcement powers for the first time, sending information requests to more than 30 AI companies.
