While acknowledging some mistakes, he defended Anthropic’s “race to the top” strategy, arguing that the company has repeatedly sacrificed business opportunities to maintain stronger safeguards. He cited restrictions on advanced models, biological and cybersecurity protections, and the commitment of 5% of Anthropic’s shares to a public benefit fund.
