ArtCraft developer Brandon Thomas, known for his free Adobe alternatives, has released WordCraft, GridCraft and DeckCraft, open-source rivals to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Written entirely in Rust, the apps were built from scratch without any Microsoft code and can open and save Office files. They run on macOS, Windows, Linux and in the browser, but are still early in development, with WordCraft estimated at around 62% feature parity with Word.
