The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has proposed changes to the EU’s MiCA framework as part of its ongoing review.
The recommendations include tighter rules for crypto promotions by influencers, greater cost transparency, and new requirements covering staking, lending and DeFi services. ESMA also wants stronger powers to tackle fraudulent websites and services involving stablecoins that do not comply with MiCA.
