OpenAI has announced plans to acquire Pierre Computer to strengthen the infrastructure behind its AI coding platform, Codex.

Pierre’s Code Storage, Trees, and Diffs tools will support code storage, version tracking, and code review, expanding Codex beyond code generation. The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval, and Pierre’s open-source projects will continue to be available to developers.
