Cloudflare has announced that the team behind Deno, the JavaScript and TypeScript runtime, is joining the company.

The collaboration will merge Deno’s celld technology with Cloudflare’s workerd runtime, making it easier to self-host applications built with Workers and Durable Objects. Ryan Dahl, creator of Node.js and Deno, is also joining Cloudflare as the initiative aims to reduce developer dependence on individual cloud providers.
