Linus Torvalds released the first Linux 7.3 release candidate (RC1), closing the merge window for the new kernel cycle.
The update brings extensive hardware, file-system and driver changes, with AMD’s next-generation DCN6 GPU code accounting for roughly one-third of the patch. Linux 7.3-rc1 is intended for testing and is not yet a stable release.
