Google has successfully completed the first AI test aboard its Project Suncatcher prototype satellite, marking a milestone toward space-based data centers.
Launched on October 1, the satellite ran Gemma 4 on an onboard TPU and transmitted a three-line poem about space back to Earth. Google will now test its processors against radiation and thermal stress, with plans to demonstrate two interconnected satellites in 2027.
