Microsoft introduced Agent Merge in Visual Studio Code 1.136, a preview feature designed to let AI agents carry pull requests through their final stages.
The agent can address review feedback, repair failed CI checks, resolve merge conflicts and keep iterating until required checks pass. It can also merge the pull request automatically or add it to the merge queue once everything is ready.
