Deepgram has announced its acquisition of Daily, the company behind the open-source voice AI framework Pipecat.

The deal aims to help developers build low-latency, real-time voice agents while retaining flexibility in their choice of AI models. Deepgram also introduced the Real-Time Context Standard (RCS), an open protocol designed to preserve conversational context, speaker information, and vocal cues across AI systems.
