Bluetooth SIG has officially adopted High Data Throughput (HDT) as an optional feature of Bluetooth Core 7.0.
The technology increases Bluetooth Low Energy's maximum data rate from 2 Mbps to 7.5 Mbps, delivering nearly four times the speed. Designed to improve power efficiency and connection reliability, HDT is expected to enable lossless audio, high-resolution wireless streaming, and more advanced connected devices starting in 2027.
