MIT students are building combat robots capable of tearing apart their opponents, turning competitive battles into hands-on engineering lessons.
Developed by the MIT Combat Robotics Club, ARES and KRATOS combine powerful motors, reinforced armor, and rotating weapon systems to disable rival machines. Students use damage and defeats as opportunities to redesign their robots and improve their mechanical and manufacturing skills.
